At approximately 5:00 pm Wednesday the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Renville County Road 12 and 850th Avenue, which is located approximately 2 miles northeast of the city of Sacred Heart. Investigation at the scene determined that Scott Skalbeck, age 51, of rural Scared Heart was traveling westbound on 850th Avenue when the 2009 Chevrolet pickup he was driving collided with a 2008 Dodge Charger driven by Victoria Ashburn, age 47, of Sacred Heart. Both vehicles entered the drainage ditch parallel to CR 12 after the collision. Ashburn was transported by private party to Rice Hospital in Willmar with minor injuries. Agencies responding to the crash included the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Sacred Heart Police Department, Sacred Heart Fire and Rescue and Renville Ambulance.
