The State Patrol says a 65-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi tractor trailer in south central Minnesota Tuesday morning.

Daniel S. Hegler, 65, of Hanska, Minn. was walking south on the northbound side of Highway 15 around 9:15 a.m. when he was struck by a semi traveling northbound.

Hegler died at the scene of the accident.

Gene T. Walters, 61, of Hanska was the driver of the semi. He was not injured in the accident.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office assisted the State Patrol in the incident.

Searles is about 12 miles south of New Ulm.
