Leonard Sylvester Scholtz, 103, of Springfield, MN died on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN.

Visitation will be at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield, MN.

Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield, MN on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10:30 AM.

The Clergy will be Pastor Mark Johnson.

Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN.

Leonard Sylvester Scholtz was born February 7, 1908, to Edward and Minnie (Rosenau) Scholtz in North Star Township. He married Esther Wendt on June 14, 1933, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield, MN. They farmed in Burnstown Township for 58 years. Esther died on December 3 of 1992. Leonard married Audrey Baumann on October 15, 1994. Leonard lived on the farm until October of 2010, and moved to St. John Lutheran Home in December of 2010. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife - Audrey Scholtz of Springfield, MN; two sons - Dennis (Diana) of Comfrey, MN and Myron (Marsha) of Cambridge, MN; 8 grandchildren - Scott (Colleen) Scholtz, Greg (Kari) Scholtz, Kelly Mogler, Vonda (Brad) Carnell, Stacy (Jared) Green, Melissa (Jim) Pankan, Heather
(Chris) Dehn, and Luke (Brandi) Scholtz; 18 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and 3 step children. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Esther, a brother - Alfred Scholtz and a sister - Edna Krenz.
