The following is a summary of the County Board meeting held October 4:
• Approved the revised agenda; September 20 minutes; bills.
• Approved bid from G & R Controls in the amount of $28,043 annually for HVAC Preventative Maintenance for 5 years.
• Approved Select Account Plan Document for 2012.
• Resolution Approving State of Minnesota Joint Powers Agreements with the County of Redwood on Behalf of Its County Attorney and Sheriff.
• Joint Powers Agreement with State of Minnesota Criminal Justice Agency and Redwood County Attorney.
• Joint Powers Agreement with State of Minnesota Criminal Justice Agency and Redwood County Sheriff.
• Resolution Accepting Donation from Redwood Falls Women of Today for the Child Advocacy Center in the amount of $111.
• Approved bid from Kyle Hentges in the amount of $285/acre, $4,987.50 annually, total bid $14,962.50 for Land Rent for a 3 year lease on 17.5 acre parcel.
• Approved bid from Kyle Hentges in the amount of $358/acre, $38,664 annually, total bid $115,992 for Land Rent for a 3 year lease on 108 acre parcel.
• Appointed Dwight DePenning as part-time Van Driver in the Veterans Service Office Grade 6 Step 1 $11.56; effective October 5, 2011.
• Approved CUP #14-11 for Bruce Plaetz Dairy, Inc for the expansion of an existing feedlot in Vail Township.
• Approved CUP #15-11 for Randy Mages for the extraction, processing, and stockpiling of sand, clay, and gravel in Sherman Township.
• Approved CUP #16-11 for Charles Nelson-Nelson Salvage & Towing, Inc. for the establishment and operation of a salvage/junk yard and towing business in Delhi Township.
• Balstad updated the Board on a request for development of ATV Trail grids.
• Wilkenson discussed Boys and Girls County Day with the Board; by consensus, set the date for April 3, 2012.
• Resolution Determining Deficient Bridges on the CSAH, County Road and Township Systems.
• Approved materials quote from Wabasso Building Center in the amount of $8,630.65 for the storm damage repair of the Milroy County Maintenance building.
• Approved labor quote from Welu Construction in the amount of $4,000 for the storm damage repair of the Milroy County Maintenance building.
• Rabenberg updated the Board on the status of CSAH 101 Bridge and gravel sources.
• Approved sending letter of inquiry to Cottonwood/Jackson Community Health Services; and Cottonwood County Human Services and Jackson County Human Services for possible County mergers.
• Approved sending letter of appreciation to Countryside Public Health for feasibility study efforts and to set up possible meeting dates for discussion of potential joint powers agreement.
• Approved sending letter to Southwest Health and Human Services to request further dialogue on possible merger with Human Services; begin discussions for potential merger of Public Health.
• The Commissioners reported on their meeting attendance.
• Adjourned at 11:51 AM.
