Motorists will encounter right-lane closures on Highway 19 in Marshall from Bruce Street to Highway 23 beginning Oct. 3. The project is expected to be completed in early November.
The project consists of sidewalk improvements and signal system revisions at Bruce Street and Mustang Trail in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Traffic will be diverted to the left through lanes and the shared-center left turn lane. Pedestrian traffic will be diverted as necessary to accommodate construction. Access to businesses will be maintained with entrances narrowed during construction and interrupted for brief periods.
When the project is completed, pedestrians will encounter more user friendly sidewalks, ramps and signals.
Ti-Zack Concrete, Inc., of LeCenter is the prime contractor for the project.
During construction and road maintenance work, MnDOT urges drivers to:
• Stay alert, expect the unexpected. Be patient.
• Never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
• Plan ahead and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
• Don’t use cell phones while driving.
• Remember text messaging while driving is illegal.
• Follow posted speed limits; fines double in work zones.
