Gas prices in Minnesota are headed in the right direction if you are a cash-strapped consumer. The average for a gallon of unleaded has fallen more than 15 cents over the past week. Triple-A's Gail Weinholzer says fewer drivers on the road and lower crude oil are fueling the decline, from a high of 100 dollars a barrel in May to 80 dollars currently.
Weinholzer says the switch from summer grade to winter grade fuel is also a contributing factor. The statewide average of 3-51 a gallon is just below the national average.
