Jason Greenslit, 39 of Eden Prairie passed away on September 3rd.
A local funeral service will be taking place at 11 AM on Saturday, September 24th at the Morton United Methodist Church.
Greenslit, Jason G. 12-30-71 Jason left this earthly home with us to be with his Lord on September 3, 2011. Jason graduated from Waconia High School, where he participated in football, hockey, track and band. He graduated from University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in Education. Jason taught seventh grade in Mound and substituted around the area. He worked at Ball Pro in Eden Prairie for 12 years. Jason was an all around sports enthusiast. He skied and snowboarded in Japan and Europe with his friends. He was a triathlon competitor. Jason is survived by his mother, Janice (Bob) Halverson and father, Leon (Avie) Greenslit. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Gadbois (who was his main caregiver and rock of support throughout his journey) and her children Amber and Adam Gadbois; brother, David (Jackie) Greenslit and their children Morton and Spenser, brother, Kurt (Brenda) Greenslit and their children Jessica, Jana, Lee and Cady. Also surviving are Jason's step-siblings and their children; Greg Werness (Alexandra and Madeline), Jeff Werness, Tim (Elizabeth) Werness (Alexis and Clint), Terry Werness (Alissa and Abigail), Colette Halverson (Blake Magnuson) (George, Henry and Isaac), Doug (Karey) Halverson (Katherine, Margaret and Ingrid), Rob Halverson (Jing Fang) (Isabelle and Andreas); uncles, John and Bill Greenslit and Jim Hanson; also survived by numerous relatives and friends. Preceded in death by grandparents, John and Gracie Mae Greenslit, Gerard and Hazel Hanson and a niece Jamie Lee Greenslit. Visitationwas held on Friday, September 9th at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, West 50th St. and Vernon Ave at Hwy 100. Funeral Service were on Saturday, September 10th with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM also at the funeral chapel. An additional memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 24th at United Methodist Church in Morton, MN. Interment Morton City Cemetery.
