MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - LeGarrette Blount's touchdown run with 31

seconds left gave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a 24-20 win over the

Minnesota Vikings yesterday. Quarterback Josh Freeman threw for two

scores as the Bucs came back from a 17-0 halftime deficit. Adrian

Peterson rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns for the Vikings.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Cleveland Indians scored six runs in the

seventh inning to beat the Minnesota Twins 6-5 yesterday. Indians

outfielder Shelley Duncan homered to start the rally, then added a

two-run double in the frame. Twins utilityman Brian Dinkelman had

four hits and drove in a run.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Twins first baseman Justin Morneau won't play

again this season because of concussion symptoms and an upcoming

surgery. The team announced yesterday that Morneau will have a cyst

removed from his left knee this week. Morneau played in just 69

games this season, hitting .227 with four homers and 30 RBIs.

 


SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Jia Perkins scored 24 points as the San

Antonio Silver Stars beat the Minnesota Lynx 84-75 yesterday to

even their first-round series. Becky Sophia Young added 23 points

as the Silver Stars are trying to get past the first round for the

first time since 2008. Seimone Augustus had a team-high 24 points

for the Lynx.



MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Now the Minnesota Wild are chipping in to

support the Minnesota Lynx playoff run.

The Wild have purchased 500 tickets for the Lynx playoff game on

Tuesday night against San Antonio. The upper level tickets will be

available for free to those who call the Lynx ticket office.

The Twins did the same thing in advance of the Lynx playoff

opener last week.

Fans can call the Lynx ticket office at 612-673-8400 starting at

7 a.m. local time to redeem their tickets. Each fan can claim two

tickets.

The series with the Silver Stars is tied 1-1. Both teams have

won on their home court and the winner of Game 3 will advance to

the Western Conference finals.
