Motorists will continue using a detour for Highway 23 from Clara City to Highway 212 near Granite Falls through mid-October. The concrete repair project is scheduled to be complete by Saturday, Oct. 22, but the detour may be lifted one to two weeks earlier.
The project was originally scheduled to be completed in early September but experienced delays due to the state government shutdown.
Work begins 600 feet south of the Highway 23/Highway 7 junction in Clara City to the Highway 23/Highway 212 junction east of Granite Falls. The project includes removing and replacing deteriorated concrete.
Highway 23 traffic continues to be detoured south on Chippewa County Road 2/Renville County Road 9, then west on Highway 212 to Highway 23.
