Thefts in Renville County-seeking suspect

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Crime Alert about recent criminal activity and is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect. Over the past two weeks, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office and various police departments in Renville County have taken reports related to burglary, theft and motor vehicle theft (vehicles and ATV’s). These events have occurred in various cities in Renville County, but have primarily occurred in rural Renville County.

“It’s especially important that residents lock their vehicles, garages and outbuildings, both in cities and in the country,” said Renville County Sheriff Scott Hable. “Our investigators are working diligently to clear these cases, but have come to a point where they need the public’s help.”

Arrest warrants have been issued for Matthew James Wrobleski, age 37, whose current address is unknown, for Motor Vehicle Theft and Domestic Assault. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is also seeking Wrobleski in connection with several more recent crimes, including several ATV and auto thefts.

It is believed that Wrobleski is currently in possession of, and driving a stolen vehicle, which is described as a black 2004 Chevrolet pickup. The pickup is black, is a four door model, and has Minnesota license plates “573-GLZ”, which may or may not still be on the vehicle.

Wrobleski is described as being 6 feet tall, weighs about 220 pounds and has a stocky build. Wrobleski last had short brown hair and a full, dark beard. Wrobleski was last seen wearing a green shirt and tan or brown pants. Wrobleski could be armed and should be considered dangerous.

“If anyone sees or has any information related to the whereabouts of this suspect, I would urge them to contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately,” concluded Sheriff Hable. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office can be reached at (320) 523-1161.
