Echo fire destroys business



On Sunday, August 21, 2011 at approximately 11:30 a.m. the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, received several 911 calls on a fire at Lynae’s Bar & Grill in Echo, MN.

Upon Echo Fire Department arrival the Café portion of the building was fully engulfed with flames.

The fire was extinguished by the Echo Fire Department with mutual aid from the following Fire Departments; Redwood Falls, Vesta, Belview, Sacred Heart, Wood Lake, Granite Falls, Clarkfield, Cottonwood and Marshall.

Medical aid was assisted by the Echo First Responder, Belview First Responder, Wood Lake First Responders and the Cottonwood Ambulance Service. There was no one in the building at the time the fire started and no injuries have been reported.

Law Enforcement agencies involved at the Fire were Echo Police Department and mutual aid from the Upper Sioux Police Department.

The fire is being investigated as an Accidental Fire by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal, Echo Police Department and the Echo Fire Department.

The Echo Community Center which is located nearby was not damaged.
