On August 5, 2011 at approximately 10:20am the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle rollover into a drainage ditch near the intersection of CR 22 and 800th Avenue which is located approximately 1 ½ miles east of Hector.

Investigation at the scene determined that that Maria Guadalupe Gaona Esparaza, age 48 of Hector was traveling east bound on 800th Avenue when the vehicle she was driving entered the drainage ditch. The vehicle did not enter the water. Driver was transported by Hector Ambulance to Renville County Hospital and was later released with minor injuries.
Agencies responding to the crash included the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Hector Ambulance and Hector Fire & Rescue.
