Disruptive Intoxication ordinance

The city of Redwood Falls introduced a disruptive intoxication ordinance at Tuesday's meeting. The final council action has been set for the August 16th meeting.

City staff has reviewed police reports and citation and discovered a need to address situations in which an intoxicated person becomes disruptive and belligerent in public locations. Many times the behavior does not fit into an existing law.

If approved the offense would be a misdemeanor and punishable up to a maximum of 90 days in jail and $1,000 fine.
