New laws on 8/1

A number of new laws take effect today (Monday) in Minnesota. One offers more protection to consumers from so-called fly by night contractors who do repair work following storms or other natural disasters. Another requires teachers and assistants who work at child care centers to successfully complete C-P-R training. A third new law exempts churches and other faith-based organizations from certain State Health Department food inspection regulations. Yet another new Minnesota statute increases the penalty for injuring a police dog.
