MANKATO, Minn. (AP) - Former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver

Randy Moss is retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons. Moss' agent

says his client received offers from several teams, but decided

against returning to the league. Moss caught 153 touchdowns in a

career spent with Minnesota, New England and Tennessee.

 


MANKATO, Minn. (AP) - The Vikings made a number of move on their

first day of training camp yesterday. The team has restructured the

contract for wide receiver Bernard Berrian, who is coming off a

disappointing season. Minnesota also signed offensive lineman

Charlie Johnson and placed left tackle Bryant McKinnie on the

non-football injury list.

 


MANKATO, Minn. (AP) - The Vikings have honored Korey Stringer on

the tenth anniversary of his death. The team painted a big No. 77

on their practice field in remembrance of Stringer, who died of

heat stroke in August 2001 during training camp. His death prompted

all teams to more closely monitor their players during hot

practices.

 


ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A federal judge has set a hearing date to

discuss the pending case filed against the NFL by retired players.

Hall of Famer Carl Eller and other retirees have sued both the

league and the NFL Players Association claiming they were illegally

left out of labor talks. The hearing is scheduled for next

Wednesday.
