Olivia Police arrest resident for assault twice



On July 1, 2011 the Olivia Police Department responded to a series of 911 calls reporting of a fight involving a knife.  Officers on scene discovered that suspect William Thomas Lewis (d.o.b. 07-18-1963) had assaulted his 19 year old son by stabbing him numerous times.  The victim was airlifted to HCMC where his initial condition was unknown at the time the court complaint had been filed.  Lewis was charged with 2nd degree assault.  After his initial court appearance he was released from custody without bail.
 
Then on July 25, 2011 Olivia Police responded to a report of a domestic that originated from the Lewis residence.  The victim, Lewis’ wife of 4 years reported to have been assaulted by her husband.  The victim reported that while being punched by Lewis, her front tooth was knocked out and she suffered a swollen lip.  Lewis was arrested and charged with 3rd degree assault.  After his initial court appearance for this charge Lewis was held with $200,000 unconditional bail.
