The Renville County Sheriff’s Office has recently received trespassing reports from the Cold Spring Granite Company, who owns 2 large granite quarries near Morton, MN. These quarries have traditionally been used by area residents as a recreation swimming area. Unfortunately, due to liability and insurance issues, the company can no longer allow people to be in or around the quarries. The quarries are posted, law enforcement will provide routine patrol and people found to be on the Cold Spring Granite Company property will be cited for trespassing.
