The American Cancer Society’s National Signature Activity, Relay For Life, takes place Friday and Saturday, August 5-6, 2011, at BOLD High School Track in Olivia. Renville County’s Relay For Life event to fight cancer kicks off with the Opening Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, with the cancer survivors taking their “Survivors’ Lap” about 7:30 p.m.
There will be a survivors’ reception and registration at the Survivors’ Tent at the BOLD High School track across from the grandstand. The reception and registration will run from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available.
Cancer survivors and their families who are interested in participating are encouraged to call Steve Hettig, 320-523-1322 daytime or 320-894-9423 evenings, if they have any questions regarding the event and the special activities for cancer survivors.
The American Cancer Society uses funds raised at Relay For Life to further local efforts in cancer research, education, advocacy and services.
