June (Luepke) Krause age 73, of Echo, passed away Wednesday, July 13,
2011 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. Services will be held
at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church in
Echo. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 5 to 8
p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo. Visitation will continue one hour
prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church
in Echo. Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso
are in charge of the arrangements.

June JoAnne (Luepke) Krause was born March 17, 1938 in Echo, Yellow
Medicine County to Gerhold and Louise (Gunderson) Luepke. She grew up
in rural Echo Township and attended country school at District #18
before graduating from Echo High School in 1955. June was baptized
April 3rd, 1938 and confirmed on March 11th, 1951 at Peace Lutheran
Church in Echo. She worked at Broeckers General Store and was a
waitress at the Hurry Back Inn café in Echo. She also helped her Dad
farm before marrying her high school sweetheart, Larry Krause, on
March 2, 1957 at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. They lived west of
Vesta for three years before moving to their farm in Sioux Agency
Township, Yellow Medicine County, where they raised their four
children. During this time, she helped Larry work on the farm, drove
school bus for 20 years for Echo Public School, Echo/Wood Lake Public
School and subbed driving for other schools and later was employed by
Linda’s Cleaning and Decorating and was also self employed. June
played trumpet in her husband’s “Old Tyme” band the Happy
Wanders for more than 20 years. She also belonged to the Triple T
Saddle Club, snow mobile club, and a sewing club. Recently she
belonged to the Altar Guild at Peace Lutheran Church. June and her
husband spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona. She loved to dance,
garden, fish, hunt, play cards, and do field work. June enjoyed riding
horses and had a tender spot in her heart for her farm cats. She was a
cherished mother to many, grandmother to so many more, and a friend to
all.

June JoAnne Krause passed away on Wednesday July 13, 2011 at North
Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale at the age of 73 years, 3 months and
27 days. She is survived by four children: Jody (Dennis) Isaackson of
Cottonwood, Mitchell
( Holly) Krause of Vesta, Sandra (Tom) Rebstock of Franklin, and
Timothy Krause
( partner Robert Dell) of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren Josh
(Joanne), Jeremy
( Lynn), Adam and Andrew Krause, Jessica (Aaron) Johnson, Heather
(Austin) Barnes, Daniel Isaackson, Candice and fiancé Brian Korte,
Kasha and John Rebstock, and great grandchildren; Harley Orvis,
Travet Krause and Reese Kamolz, Riley and Kendra Krause and Carter
Krause. Also surviving are siblings: Melvin (Kathy) Luepke of Bemidji,
Alvina Omtvedt of Lake George, Violet Alvheim of Plymouth and Linda
(Darrell) Cole of Vesta,; sisters-in-law: Wanda Luepke of Echo and
Diane Luepke of Burbank CA. She was preceded in death by her parents,
her husband and two brothers; Alvin and Marvin Luepke. Blessed be her
memory.
