Maurice John Gresch, 84, of Springfield, MN died on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at his home in Springfield, MN.
Private family services will be held at St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery in Springfield, MN.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN.
Maurice John Gresch was born on July 1, 1926 in Goodwin, SD, the son of Frank and Anne (Zaug) Gresch. He honorably served his country during World War II. Maurice was united in marriage to Barbara Nealon in Rollingstone, MN. He was an avid woodcarver, painter, and patron of the arts. Maurice enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Just a week ago he caught a 2 ½ lbs walleye on Double Lake.
He is survived by his children - Kathy Gresch of Minneapolis, MN, Mike Gresch of Springfield, MN, Chris Gresch of Redwood Falls, MN, and Steve and wife Laurie Gresch of Mankato, MN; 3 grandchildren - Joe Gresch, Jennifer and husband John Scholl, and Sarah Gresch; and a great granddaughter - Samantha Gresch. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife - Barbara; and son - Bill Gresch.
