Czech Heritage Festival in Bechyn will be August 13th. It starts with a 10:00 AM Polka Mass then a pork dinner from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM with take outs available from 10:30 AM-1:00 PM. Afternoon entertainment includes the Wendinger Band, Matt Hodek and the Dakota Dutchmen, Sleepy Eye Area Concertina Club, Bechyn Czech Folk Dancers, and Special Exhibit-“Voices of Vision”. Exhibit explores the relationship between President Woodrow Wilson and Thomas G. Masaryk as they worked together to establish the new nation of Czechoslovakia, the first western-style democracy in Central Europe. This exhibit is on loan from the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library. There will also be children’s “Housenka” rides, a quilt raffle, farmers market, children’s games, kolache, a large benefit raffle, silent auction, souvenirs, ethnic foods, and a beer garden.
