Redwood and Renville included in disaster declaration

President Obama at Governor Dayton's request has declared 14 Minnesota counties a disaster area following severe storms, tornadoes and flooding from July 1st through the 11th.  The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe is also eligible for assistance.  The federal aid goes to the state, and to local governments and certain private non-profits for emergency work, and repair or replacement of damaged facilities.  Hazard mitigation grants are also available.  FEMA will fund three-fourths of the approved costs.  Assistance is available in the following counties:   Chisago, Isanti, Kandiyohi, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Mille Lacs, Pine, Pipestone, Redwood, Renville, Stearns and Yellow Medicine -- as well as to the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe.
