MN Sports Headlines for Wednesday, Dec. 28th:


MILWAUKEE (AP) - Rookie Jon Leuer converted a three-point play

with less than two minutes left to help the Milwaukee Bucks beat

the Minnesota Timberwolves last night 98-95. Brandon Jennings led

the Bucks in scoring with 24 points. Timberwolves forward Kevin

Love finished with 31 points and 20 rebounds.

 


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Brandon Paul scored 21 points last night

as Illinois topped Minnesota 81-72 in double overtime. The Illini

got 20 points and a game-high 11 rebounds from Meyers Leonard for

his third straight double-double. Minnesota's Ralph Sampson III led

all scorers with 22 points.

 


LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Ryan Evans had a career-high 22 points to

help No. 11 Wisconsin beat Nebraska 64-40 last night in the

Cornhuskers' inaugural Big Ten game. Jordan Taylor added 15 points

for the Badgers, who won their ninth straight conference opener.

Toney McCray led Nebraska with 16 points and nine rebounds.

 


EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared

Allen has been named to his fourth Pro Bowl. Allen currently leads

the NFL with a career-best 18.5 sacks. Allen is the only member of

the Vikings making the trip to Hawaii this year as a player.
