MN Sports Headlines for Thursday, Jan. 26th:

DALLAS (AP) - Kevin Love notched a 31-point, ten-rebound

double-double last night to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves past

the Dallas Mavericks 105-90. The Timberwolves went on a 13-4 run in

the third quarter to take the lead. The end of the Mavs' seven-game

home winning streak came after the team received their championship

rings during a pregame ceremony.

 

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A person familiar with the situation tells

The Associated Press Kevin Love has agreed to a four-year contract

extension with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The person says the deal

is worth between $60 million and $62 million. It also includes a

player option in the final year.

 

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Coach Tom Izzo earned his 400th win

last night in No. 10 Michigan State's 68-52 victory over Minnesota.

Draymond Green had 22 points and 14 rebounds for the Spartans, who

moved into a tie for first place in the Big Ten. Rodney Williams

scored 15 points as the Golden Gophers saw their three-game win

streak snapped.

 

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Vikings owner Zygi Wilf says

the team wants a new stadium in the Twin Cities, even if it means

building on the Metrodome site. Wilf spoke yesterday after meeting

with Governor Mark Dayton and state lawmakers about the team's push

for funding of a new stadium. Wilf says he's "optimistic" the

Metrodome site will work even though it would mean relocating to

the University of Minnesota for up to three seasons.
