MN Sports Headlines for Thursday, Dec. 8th:


EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Vikings quarterback

Christian Ponder is getting impatient with his ups and downs during

his rookie campaign. Despite throwing for 381 yards last Sunday,

Ponder and three turnovers that cost the Vikings 13 points.

Minnesota plays at Detroit this weekend.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Ricky Rubio has arrived in Minnesota for his

first pro season in the United States. Rubio says he's relieved to

know there will be an NBA season, but he adds that he benefited

from the extra time off. The Spanish guard had a light workout at

the Target Center yesterday.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman is

adding some familiar faces to his coaching staff. Adelman announced

yesterday that Terry Porter, Jack Sikma, T.R. Dunn and Bill Bayno

will join him as assistants. The Timberwolves also added two of

Adelman's sons to the coaching staff.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Twins have finalized a

one-year, $4.75 million contract with closer Matt Capps. The deal

was completed yesterday after Capps passed his physical. The

right-hander's contract includes a $6 million club option for the

2013 season.
