The Redwood Falls Fire Department was called out late Thursday evening to 208 5th Street in Redwood Fall.

Upon arrival the house was full of smoke. A faulty fan had caught on fire and melted and burn the carpet.

The owner of the home used a fire extinguisher to knock down the fire.

The family living in the home was checked for smoke inhalation by North Ambulance that was on the scene.

The fire department was on the scene about 40 minutes.
