Fatal farm accident

Last Saturday evening a teenager was airlifted to Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., has died as a result of the injuries sustained in a farm accident.

16 year old Alexander Brouwer reportedly fell into a grain trailer. It was not known how long he was buried in the corn. CPR was being performed when the ambulance arrived and he was resusitated several times in route to the hospital.

Yellow Medicine County Sheriff Bill Flaten reports the incident happened about 6:30 PM on Saturday.

Wednesday evening the family reported on a caring bridge website that Alex would be a hero in that several of his organs were being donated to help others that had been waiting for a long time for help.

Alex Brouwer was a student at the Canby High School.
