A 64 year old , Steven Zick from rural Lucan was killed in a one vehicle accident early Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred at 1:46 AM Tuesday on Cottonwood County Road 7, about a ½ mile north of 395th Street in Southbrook Township.

The 2011 red Chevy pickup was northbound on the county road when the vehicle left the roadway at a curve and struck a driveway embankment. The victim was the only occupant of the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt. The side airbags of the vehicle were deployed. The driver died on the scene.

The Westbrook ambulance assisted on the scene.

The Cottonwood County Sheriffs Department is investigating the accident. There is no indication that alcohol was a factor in the crash according to the report.
