A 29 year old resident of Redwood Falls was killed in a multiple vehicle accident Saturday.
Justin Gustafson, 29 of Redwood Falls was a passenger in a vehicle that was rolled onto in an accident on Highway 71 and Highway 7 in Kandiyohi County at about 11:45 AM.
The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting that a Ford Escape was traveling Eastbound on Highway 7 and failed to stop for a signal. The name of the driver in that vehicle has not been released as the state patrol is reporting it is a 15 year old minor. The vehicle hit a Ford Super Duty causing it to roll onto a Lincoln Towncar and Volkswagen Beetle.
Justin Gustafson was a passenger in the Lincoln Towncar and pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the vehicle he was in is his father, 50 year old John Gustafson of Redwood Falls-who sustained serious injuries and was transferred for medical care. Also a passenger in that vehicle was Patricia Gustafson, 59 of Redwood Falls. She also sustained injuries that required medical attention and was taken to Rice memorial Hospital in Willmar, according to the report.
The 2nd vehicle that was struck and caused to roll was a Ford Super Duty and driven by 71 year old, Lyle Jahnke of Olivia. Lyle Jahnke and passenger Carol Jahnke 71 of Olivia suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transferred for medical care.
The Volkswagen Beetle had only minor damage and passengers did not suffer injuries they included: Driver-45 year old David Castillo of Olivia, 47 year old Theresa Castillo of Olivia and 34 year old Jaimie Hegg of Arlington Heights, Illinois.
The State Patrol has not released the name of the juvenlie driver in the first vehicle but the names of the passengers were listed as 22 year old Lisa Sharp and 11 year old Julie Sharp of Milbank, South Dakota. They also sustained non-life threatening injuries according to the State Patrol.
