Evelyn Pooch, age 95 of Lamberton, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Church of Christ in Lamberton with burial in the Lamberton City Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Evelyn Dorothy (Halter) Pooch was born on May 4, 1916 in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, MN to William and Mina (Everson) Halter.  She passed away on February 21, 2012 at the age of 95.  She was baptized and later confirmed at the Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton, MN.  She attended school at District 3 until 8th grade.  On Oct. 18, 1937, Evelyn was united in marriage to Larry Pooch.  This marriage was blessed with 4 children:  Sandra, Susan, Steven and Allan (Charlie).  Larry and Evelyn farmed south of Lamberton where Evelyn kept busy as a homemaker and was dedicated to raising their 4 children.  Her children were her pride and joy!  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and was a wonderful cook!  Evelyn was always waiting when her kids came home from school and had some freshly baked treat for them!  Evelyn spent many hours of her life driving her children to town so they could participate in sports, take piano, swimming lessons, etc.  Her kids always came first!  Evelyn loved to play bingo! At Bethany Covenant Nursing home, where she resided these past years, she still looked forward to bingo on Tuesdays and Saturdays!  When Evelyn would have visitors, she'd give hugs and then a bag of Pearson's mints!  She was always a generous person and never lost the joy of giving to others.  She will be dearly missed by her family! 
 
She is survived by her 4 children:  Sandra and her husband Charlie Goerish of Tracy, MN, Susan and her husband Kenneth Baumann of Mahnomen, MN, Steve Pooch and his wife Mary of Forest Lake, MN, and Allan (Charlie) Pooch and his wife Jeannie of Roseville, MN, 7 grandchildren:  Tim Goerish and his wife Teresa, Jenny McNamee and her husband Chuck, Gina Gunderson and her husband Grant, Katy Boehm and her husband David, Ben Baumann and his wife Trisha, Andrew Pooch and Abigail Pooch, and 14 great grandchildren:  Breanna and Brooke Goerish, Jack, Luke and Grace McNamee, Gunnar, Emma and Evelyn Gunderson, Ryan, Kendall and Natalie Boehm, Jillian, Gabriel and Zachary Baumann, 2 sisters:  Mildred Pooch of Mound and Arlene Nerem and her husband Ray of Lamberton, one brother, Bill Halter and his wife Lillian of Springfield and sister-in-law Jean Halter of Redwood Falls.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, 4 brothers: Arnold, Lloyd, Floyd, and infant brother Clarence, and 2 sisters Gladys Krueger and Alice Therkilsen.  May God bless the memory of Evelyn Pooch!
