Elvira Meyer, 97, of Alexandria, MN formerly of Springfield, MN died on Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN.

The Clergy will be Pastor Mark Johnson.
Interment will be at the Springfield City Cemetery.

Elvira Meyer was born on October 7, 1914 in Alexandria, MN, the daughter of William and Ella (Seidl) Rambow. The family moved to Springfield when Elvira was 5 years old. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield and attended the German Lutheran School. She was united in marriage on October 8, 1940 to Ernest Meyer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. Elvira lived in Springfield for 89 years. At the age of 94 years, she moved to Bethel Manor in Alexandria, MN and was living there independently until her death on February 15, 2012.
Elvira is survived by son - David; daughter - Doreen (Verlin) Nicolaus; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law - Grace Rambow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Ernest in 1989; brothers
- Ervin, Wilbert, Arthur, and Alvin; and sisters - Adelia Fast and Elanor Marsalek.
