A southern Minnesota man was arrested after allegedly driving a Zamboni drunk. It apparently happened Monday night after a kids' hockey game in Apple Valley-- south of Minneapolis.
Joel Bruss, who was driving the zamboni, caught the attention of coaches and parents too as he tried clearing the ice. They call him a hazard at Hayes Hockey Arena.
"The coaches noticed he was off the mark by quite a ways, bumping into boards and having trouble maneuvering the machine." One man at the arena says Bruss had the water off during his four laps. The typical 10-minute job took 25 minutes to finish. "He just couldn't drive a straight line," according to the man. "I knew something was wrong. He was not operating it like he normally does." Officers at the scene said Bruss smelled like alcohol and was unsteady on his feet.
Those officers arrested Bruss after he completed a field sobriety test.
