Doris Rosenau





Doris Rosenau, age 81, of Olivia died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Renville County Hospital in Olivia. Funeral services are Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Olivia with Rev. Joel Luetke officiating. Burial is in the Olivia Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday 4:30-7:00 p.m. at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and continues Wednesday at the church for one hour prior to service.

Doris Lorraine Rosenau was born March 2, 1930 at Leavenworth, MN to John and Martha (Meyer) Ludewig. She attended country school at rural Leavenworth. Doris married Wilbert Emil Rosenau on April 29, 1947 and they were blessed with four children. They first lived near Sleepy Eye and in 1950 moved to a farm south of Olivia. Doris and Wilbert farmed for many years and later moved into town. Doris was a homemaker and had also worked as a housekeeper at Jackpot Junction for four years. She was a faithful member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and a longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary. Doris had enjoyed fishing, gardening, dancing, playing cards, sewing, taking care of the animals on the farm, and especially spending time with her family.

Doris is survived by her husband, Wilbert Rosenau of Olivia, her four children: Lloyd (and Judy) Rosenau of Marshall, Dale (and Stephanie) Rosenau of Sacred Heart, Linda Rosenau (and special friend Steven Wiese) of Redwood Falls, and Curtis (and Carleen) Rosenau of Sacred Heart; her 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law: Alice Ludewig, Verna Mude, Violet Krebs, and Arlene (and Sylvester) Vogel; her brother-in-law Otto (and Gertrude) Rosenau; and many nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Elvira Baier, her brothers: Marvin Ludewig and Gilbert Ludewig and her grandson, Chad Rosenau.
