Dennis "Snap" Weber





Dennis 'Snap' Weber, age 65 of Wanda, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the Mayo Health System in Rochester.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda with burial in the church cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at St. Mathias Catholic Church and will continue for one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
There will  be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

     Dennis 'Snap' Weber was born September 26, 1945, in Springfield, MN the son of Otto and Mary Ann (Solyntjes) Weber. He graduated from Wabasso High School in 1963, then moved to Michigan where he worked at Hotton Home Improvements, then Jones Electric. Snap was drafted into the U.S. Army in February of 1967, and served in Korea. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Jones Electric for a few years. Snap then returned to the Wanda area where he worked for Altermatt Construction before opening "Snap's Repair" which he owned and operated for several years. He was the maintenance man for the City of Wanda and later graded roads for Vail Township. Snap was a member of the Wanda American Legion Post #385 and served as Commander from 1986-1988 and Adjutant since 1990. He was a member of the Wanda Fire Department, the Wanda '333' Committee, Mowing Bee, a former member of the Wanda City Council and he was currently assisting Mayor (his sister). Snap was also a member of St. Mathias Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was known as 'Mr. Fix-It" and could repair anything. He loved his hometown of Wanda.
     Snap Weber died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the Mayo Health System in Rochester at the age of 65 years.
     He is survived by sisters- Pat (Lynn) Story of Lamberton, Barbara Hoffmann of Scobey, MT, Joan Boyle of Pearland, TX, Kathy (Verdie) Johnson of Wabasso, and Karen Weber of Wanda; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; brother Richard 'Dick' and his wife Martha; and brothers-in-law- Cletus Hoffmann and James Boyle.
