Darold Johnson, age 58, of Olivia died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Memorial services will be on Thursday, February 23rd, at 7 p.m. at the Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia with Rev. Matt Hausken officiating. Burial will be in the Olivia Cemetery on Friday at 10 a.m. Visitation will be Thursday 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Darold Earling Johnson was born November 25, 1953 at Olivia, MN to Harold and Marcella (Zimmer) Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Olivia. Darold worked doing various seasonal jobs with crop companies in the Olivia area. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and watching scary movies. Darold loved his pets, woodworking especially making outdoor furniture, and he had an enthusiasm for muscle cars.
Darold is survived by his two sons: Jeremy Earling Johnson of Waseca and Joshua Lee Johnson of Truman; one brother, Steven Johnson of Redwood Falls and one brother-in-law Larry Baumgartner of Olivia, four nieces and two nephews along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. Darold was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marcella; sister, Sandra Baumgartner and nephew Steven Johnson.
