Redwood Valley Girls Rally to Stun Pipestone in Sub Section Finals

The Redwood Valley girls basketball team advanced to the Section 3AA Finals after a 41-38 win over Pipestone Area Tuesday night at SMSU in Marshall. The Cardinals improved to 18-8 with the win and Pipestone Area finished the season at 16-9. The Redwood County American Dairy Association Player of the Game was Sydney Sommers, who scored 11 points and overcame some injuries to finish off the game. The Cardinals will face Eden Valley-Watkins in the Section Finals Friday at SMSU.

Pipestone started the game on a 7-0 run and led at the half 20-16. The Arrows increased their lead to 9 at 36-27 in the second half before the Cardinals finished the game off on a 14-2 run. Pipestone held a 38-31 lead with 5 minutes left in the game and Redwood Valley finished the game on a 10-0 run to seal the win. Amy Martius hit a 3 to give the Cardinals a 39-38 lead with 2:50  left that they would not relinquish.
