Courtland man injured in farm accident near Franklin Friday morning

On Friday, November 2, at approximately 9:58 AM, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a male’s arm trapped in the power take off shaft on a piece of equipment. The location of the event was reported to be at a hog barn site on the 41000 block of 660th Avenue, approximately two miles northeast of Franklin.

Responders on scene located Chad A. Noethe, age 47, of Courtland, on the ground next to a power take off shaft. Noeth was freed from the equipment prior to emergency responders’ arrival.

The preliminary investigation revealed Noethe was pumping manure out of the hog barn when a piece of his clothing got caught in the power take off.

Noethe was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Assisting on scene were the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Franklin Ambulance, Franklin Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance-Redwood Falls, and North Memorial Air Care.
