RVHS’s Josephson named a Minnesota Football Honors Athlete

The Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation is pleased to announce Redwood Valley High School student Logan Josephson as a 2018 Scholar Athlete. Josephson and the other winners, chosen for academic excellence, leadership and community involvement, will be recognized at the 11th Annual Minnesota Football Honors on April 29 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

“Logan Josephson is an outstanding High School Scholar Athlete,” Cardinals coach Matt Lundeen said. “He has a relentless work ethic and drive that takes his talent to a level of competition most athletes strive for but never achieve. His ability to balance academics and extracurricular activities makes him a well-rounded young adult with a successful future in front of him.”

A three-time all-conference selection, Josephson was also named the District Defensive Player of the Year and played in the MSHSL All-Star Game as a senior. Redwood Valley’s team captain and MVP, played running back, safety, punter and kick returner. He holds the Cardinals’ career and season records for average yards per rush at 7.4 and 9.1, respectively. Josephson, also a track and basketball athlete, will continue his football career at Minnesota State in Mankato.

Academically, Josephson is at the top of his class with a perfect GPA. The National Honor Society vice president was his school’s recipient of the Triple “A” Award for excellence in academics, athletics and arts. Josephson’s other activities include student council, band, robotics and more. He plans to major in civil engineering at Minnesota State.

Josephson’s community involvement includes coaching youth football and basketball camps, assisting at blood drives, helping plan a benefit for a family and more. He is active in his church and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation will host the 11th Annual Minnesota Football Honors on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Presented by the Minnesota Vikings, it is the state’s largest football awards event. Doors open at 2 p.m. for the 4 p.m. event, which is open to the public. Tickets are on sale now.
