Ice Castle Fish Houses of Montevideo has built and donated one of their premier ice fishing houses to the family of a little boy who was killed during a family ice fishing outing.
In January, 8-year-old Alan Geisenkoetter Junior of Wyoming, Minnesota, was struck by a snowmobile on Chisago Lake and later died of his injuries. Authorities say the driver of the snowmobile, who was drunk at the time, has been charged with homicide.
The owner of Ice Castle, Brett Drexler, heard about the tragedy and designed a custom fish house for the Giesenkoetter Family. They named it Alan’s Castle, after little Alan Junior, his father and grandfather. The house included photos of Alan Junior hanging on the walls and other personal touches.
Drexler presented Alan’s Castle to the family on Lake Mille Lacs earlier this month.
