On Friday, March 2, at approximately 4:35 p.m, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle crash approximately eight miles south of Danube.
The preliminary crash investigation revealed a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Natalie Lothert, age 50, of Belview, was travelling west on Co Rd 4 and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Co Rd 4 and Co Rd 1.
Lothert’s vehicle collided with a 2002 Dodge Durango, driven by Lillian Whitebird, age 58, of Redwood Falls. Whitebird had been travelling southbound on Co Rd 1 prior to the crash and had one passenger within her vehicle, Ryan Whitebird, age 25, of Redwood Falls.
Lillian and Ryan Whitebird were transported to Redwood Area Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Natalie Lothert was transported to Renville County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Assisting on scene were: Renville Ambulance, Danube Fire Department, Danube First Responders, Olivia Ambulance and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
