Republican Jeremy Munson of Lake Crystal won Monday’s special election for the Minnesota House in District 23B.
Munson received nearly 60% of the vote to defeat Democrat Melissa Wagner and take the seat vacated by Tony Cornish of Vernon Center. Cornish stepped down at the end of November amid multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
“I am so grateful to the people of this district for their support and I promise that I will not let them down,” said Munson. “I look forward to serving our district and making sure our concerns and voices are heard.”
Jeremy Munson is a small business owner who lives on a farm outside Lake Crystal with his wife Kallie and their two daughters.
The 2018 Legislature gavels into session on Tuesday, February 20th.
