BOLD School Board discusses search for part time or interim superintendent

(Olivia MN-) The BOLD School Board Monday night voted to proceed with hiring a part-time or an interim superintendent for one year.

School Board Member Jeff Benson says the next step is to decide if the board should do the research and the hiring or if they should hire a search firm, and that decision will likely be made at their next meeting February 26th.

In October the board decided not to renew the contract of current BOLD Superintendent John Dotson after this school year is finished.

Several school district residents have questioned why Dotson is being let go, and the board was recently presented with a petition signed by 328 people demanding the board rescind their vote and give Dotson a contract extension.

The board has made inquiries about possibly sharing a superintendent with neighboring districts but response has been lukewarm at best. MACCRAY is also looking for new, permanent superintendent.
