Redwood County Red Kettle campaign collects nearly $17,000 for Salvation Army in 2017

Perhaps you went shopping over the holiday season and dropped a donation to the Redwood County Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. The red kettles have been packed away for the year and the campaign completed. The Salvation Army committee said Tuesday that the people of Redwood County donated $16,968 to the 2017 campaign as of Jan. 2.

In 2017, 315 Redwood County families were helped with food, clothing and household needs, emergency hotel stays, emergency rent to prevent eviction, utility emergencies and to provide “Coats for Kids”.

The Redwood County Salvation Army thanks all the volunteers who helped out over the Thanksgiving to Christmas season by ringing bells. They Salvation Army spent pecial thanks to Walmart and Tersteegs for allowing Salvation Army to receive donations from their customers at their stores.
