A settlement conference took place in Olivia Tuesday afternoon in the case of a St. Cloud man arrested after an October weekend chase with police and Sheriff’s Deputies.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Department says 25-year-old Jeremy Nordberg was arrested in a cornfield near Hector October 7th.
The incident began when a Franklin business reported a person drove off without paying for gas. A deputy tried to stop the vehicle, which had been reported stolen, 10 miles southwest of Hector and the chase began. The chase lasted 21 miles at speeds of over 100 miles an hour.
In Renville County court Tuesday, Nordberg pleaded guilty to vehicle theft and fleeing police in a motor vehicle, and charges of fleeing on foot, stealing gas and driving with a revoked license were dropped. He will be sentenced January 25th.
