Redwood Falls woman injured in collision Thursday

On Wednesday, Nov. 29, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the Redwood Falls Police Department responded to the intersection of East 4th Street and South Lincoln Street for a report of a two vehicle accident.

Beatrice Burtzel, 81, of Redwood Falls, was driving a 2007 Ford Focus as she was traveling westbound on East 4th Street. The second driver, Debra Di Martino, 34, of Redwood Falls, was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry, traveling northbound on Lincoln Street. Martino was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of East 4th Street when Burtzel entered the intersection. Burtzel’s vehicle collided with Martino’s vehicle which had resumed traveling northbound through the intersection.

Burtzel’s vehicle sustained moderate and disabling front end damage. Martino’s vehicle sustained moderate damage to the rear passenger side. Martino was transported to the Redwood Area Hospital for minor injuries.

Other agencies that responded to assist include the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and North Ambulance.
