24th annual Redwood County Relay for Life will be at fairgrounds Friday, July 21

The 24th Annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Redwood County will be held Friday, July 21 at the Redwood County fairgrounds from 4 p.m. until midnight. There is something for every member of the family to do.

Cancer Survivors are encouraged to come and register from 4:00-6:30 and be recognized in the Opening Ceremony which starts at 7:30. Those who haven’t received a purple survivor shirt at an earlier cancer survivor event for this year will also get their free shirt when they register.

One of the new events this year is a live auction, which will be held at the end of the Opening Ceremony. An old but new again event will be back this year. There will be two trained volunteers doing free-will donation massages.

There are two silent auctions again. The Children’s one is from 4:30-8:30. The General one is from 4:30-9:00. The buyers must be present to pay for and pick up their items at the close of the auctions.

The meal will be from 5-7 for a suggested price of $7 per person. It includes grilled burgers, brats or hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, chips, pickles, cookie and beverage.

A few of the other activities include a survivor lap, a caregiver lap, a luminaria ceremony, inflatables, face painting and a petting zoo. The organizers invite you to come and find out what other activities are also going on that night.
