The following is a summary of the County Board meeting held January 17, 2017:
Joint Judicial Ditch #12 with Brown County: Approved petition to hire a viewer to determine the benefits and outlet fee and utilize information from Engineer.
Elected Walling Chair of the Drainage Authority.
Approved the agenda; January 3rd minutes; bills and Out of State Travel Request for Matt Guetter.
Recognized Edward Engels, Highway Department for 20 years of Service to Redwood County.
Approved the Auditor-Treasurer consent agenda items: Cash Balance Report; Investment Summary; Budget Reports; and December Disbursements.
Johnson updated the Board on tourism events occurring in Redwood County and thanked them for their willingness to participate in tourism funding.
Wold updated the Board on the codification process with updating the current County ordinances.
Approved the Land purchase agreement with Byron and Sherry Lund for a 1.97 acre parcel of land located in Johnsville Township.
Approved the Agreement with Xcel Energy to administer the 2017 Lamp Recycling program.
Approved the 2017 Workforce Council funding request in the amount of $3,160.
Reviewed the December 2016 Jail population.
The Board discussed legislative priorities to address at the upcoming Legislative Roundtable meeting with local legislators.
Approved to appoint Jennifer Scharfencamp to full time Administrative Assistant for the Highway Department effective January 30, 2017 on the AFSME scale, Grade 8, Step 7 at $16.62/hr.
Approved to promote Robin Kokesch to FT License Center Technician in the License Center effective January 18, 2017 on the AFSCME Scale, Grade 8, Step 1 at $14.37/hr.
Approved the Health Care Savings plan LELS Union #404 Memorandum of Understanding.
Approved to proceed with the License Center renovation project.
Appointed Laura Rigge to the EDC Committee.
