Recount doesn’t change results; Van Hee wins Redwood County Commissioner District 4

Last Nov. 8, residents of Redwood County voted to determine who would represent them as Redwood County Commissioner District 4.

When the votes were tallied at the Redwood County Auditor/Treasurer’s office that night, incumbent County Commissioner Prescilla Klabunde had 772 votes, giving her 49.77 percent of the vote, while challenger Bob Van Hee had 773 votes for 49.84 percent of the total.

The publicly-funded recount for Redwood County Commissioner District 4 was held at the Redwood County Government Center this morning, Monday, Nov. 21, at 8:30 a.m. Redwood County Auditor/Treasurer Jean Price and her staff accounted for and examined all ballots turned in on Nov. 8 to determine the first counting was accurate.

The final result: no change. According to Price, after the recount the final tally was submitted to the canvassing board, which declared Van Hee the official winner for County Commissioner District 4.
